A Corporate Interpreter for Company Training

Language Connections provided a Chinese corporate interpreter for a company training run by one of the largest credit card companies in the world.
Finding a Chinese Corporate Interpreter
This credit card company reached out to Language Connections to make an important training five-day training program for its employees. The training consisted of 5 days of lectures and Q and A follow-ups. The lecture portion was handled with simultaneous interpreting services and the Q and A with consecutive interpreting services. To accommodate the lecture format, Language Connections found a team of four corporate interpreters who handled the event in shifts. Because the training event was large and had many participants, each company interpreter needed to use interpreting equipment, including a full booth and headsets for all participants. Language Connections also supplied microphones and the full public address system for the company, as we sometimes include this equipment with our conference interpreting services.
Beyond speaking Chinese at a native level, each corporate interpreter also needed to have a background in Finance, so they could handle the subject matter of the training. To find the best people for the job, Language Connections needed to fly in a few of the interpreters from other countries and coordinate their travel.
Results
By providing the best corporate interpreters and equipment, Language Connections helped ensure the success of this training program. The credit card company was able to train all their staff with new procedures and techniques, even with an English-Chinese language barrier. For the English-speaking participants, Language Connections also helped the trainers better facilitate their work by providing a public address system.
