This high profile non-profit client needed a corporate interpreter for a few different activities over the course of one full day: meetings, a few meals, and a guided tour. To accommodate these different kinds of activities, Language Connections supplied a team of two interpreters, as well as a full booth with receivers and microphones. The interpreters switched off every couple of hours, as the work is physically and intellectually exhausting. For the meetings, the interpreters used the booth, headsets and microphones to provide conference interpreting. For the meals, the interpreters provided consecutive interpreting services to mimic the natural give and take of conversation. This was also the case during the guided tour.
To make sure the required corporate translation services were up to par, Language Connections had to find the best Chinese business interpreter possible with a background in Science, which is the field this client works in. The team of interpreters we found were in New York, and thus had to be flown to the city of the client (Boston) for the job.
