The Massachusetts Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) was established to meet urgent and transitional needs of individuals and families living in Massachusetts through a combination of federal- and state-funded benefits. The Department of Transitional Assistance has recently been involved in conducting several community outreach programs in an effort to bring services and information to individuals with limited or poor English proficiency.
We have been asked to help facilitate public meetings by providing language support in all spoken languages, including Khmer, Cape Verdean, Spanish, and Portuguese. Language Connections will be participating in a series of statewide listening sessions throughout the months of March and April aimed at allowing residents from all over the state of Massachusetts to share ideas and provide feedback about their experience with transitional assistance programs.
