Professional interpreters are expected to not only be fluent in both English and their target language, but to possess a unique skillset and knowledge base that allows them to verbally translate word for word without mistakes.
As such, it is imperative for individuals to gain training and experience – both providing interpretation consecutively and simultaneously, and in the subject matter of their chosen industry specialization.
Language Connections ensures this with all of our interpreter training programs, by developing courses that provide the basic knowledge needed to work in medical, legal, and business settings. This curriculum is taught in both English and the target language of the group, so students have experience communicating technical topics in both languages. Students practice the most frequently used modes of interpretation through role plays and activities in class.
