Providing Conference Interpreting Services for a Prestigious Design School

Boston, MA – Language Connections is one of the oldest Boston-based language training, translation, and interpreting services company. We recently provided our interpreting services to an academic conference spearheaded by an Ivy League Boston based school of design. This project required simultaneous interpreters familiar with academic forums. Language Connections was able to help the prestigious design school run a global-minded conference on public landscaping spaces, thus cementing our status as one of their go-to conference interpretation agencies.

Conference Interpreting Services to Facilitate International Development

This academic conference centered on public landscaping in Latin American and African countries. To accommodate some of their participants, Language Connections supplied two Portuguese interpreters.  Besides being native speakers of Portuguese, these interpreters were deeply familiar with the intricacies of land-use planning. In order to ensure the conference interpreting was on par with these illustrious speakers, Language Connections was sure to assemble an interpretation team with expertise in the field.

One of the biggest challenges with this project was the composition of the event. Because Language Connections had to provide simultaneous interpreting for consecutive presenters, of a high-academic caliber, the interpreters had to be practiced enough to convey complicated, nuanced ideas at an accelerated pace. Our experienced project management team carefully picked top tier interpreters.  These interpreters not only brought their past experience and skills, but also put in significant preparation reviewing the material.  With all of these solutions, everything ran smoothly, and the conference interpreting was lauded as very successful.

Results

After the conference, Language Connections received numerous compliments on the acumen of the interpreters. Despite the challenges presented by providing conference interpretation services to the graduate school, Language Connections was ultimately able to ensure client satisfaction.
