Spanish Translation Services for a Local Nonprofit

Spanish Translation Services for Event Materials

 

Language Connections served this local nonprofit by providing Spanish translation services for a yearly holiday event.  In completing this marketing translation, we encountered a few major challenges.  The first challenge was ensuring the materials were at a reading level that is accessible to many different people.  Since this particular event served parts of the community that are deeply marginalized, translating the document into a reading level that is too high would defeat the purpose.  The marketing efforts to attract people to this holiday event would actually be less accessible to some of the very people they were meant for.

The other main challenge in providing Spanish translation services for this client’s project was to make sure the language of the materials was warm, friendly, and inviting.  The nonprofit wanted to extend invitations to the community and make them feel welcome and secure in attending this holiday event.  Language Connections’ job was to ensure that feeling was carried over from English to Spanish.

 

 

The Result

 

By handling these two major challenges, Language Connections was able to assist this client in their mission: supporting people living chronic illnesses and subsequent homelessness.  Our Spanish translation services helped the client to extend their reach to Spanish-speaking members of the community, widening the group of people they served at this holiday dinner.  We’re proud to continue to partner with such an important organization.
